Two villas above the sunset

A private hillside on Aegina’s quiet south coast, forty minutes from Athens and a world away. Aelia and Melitta — two sister houses, one golden horizon.

The Story

Aelia is named for the sun. Melitta, for the honeybee. Between them: olive trees, salt air, and the slow rhythm of an island summer.

Perched over the fishing village of Perdika, the two houses share a family hillside yet keep their own worlds — separate pools, separate gardens, separate silences. Take one, or take both and bring everyone.

This is not a resort. It is a home kept the way Greek homes are kept — lemons on the trees, bread from the village bakery, and the Saronic laid out below you from morning coffee to last wine.

Villa Aelia

The family’s original summer house — a generous garden villa where the big blue pool keeps its diving board, the bar is built of island stone, and dinner stretches under the pergola until the lights of Perdika bay come on.

Villa Melitta

The modern sister — stone terraces stepping down the hillside, an infinity pool aimed straight at the sunset, and daybeds that follow the light around the plot. Quiet, mineral, unhurried.

Evenings

Dinner is lit by the island itself

When the last swimmers dry off, the hillside turns to candlelight. Grill by the outdoor kitchen, pour something cold, and let the lights of Perdika bay come on one by one below you. Nobody checks the time here.

— καλό βράδυ

We split two families between the two houses and met every evening by the pool. It felt less like a rental, and more like inheriting a Greek aunt’s summer place.

The Island

Aegina keeps her own hours

Pistachio orchards, the temple of Aphaia, fish tavernas on the Perdika waterfront, and the little island of Moni across the water. Close enough for a whim. Far enough to forget.
